International Youth Day 2024: Bring on
‘The D-Wave’ with these timeless truths

August 09, 2024
  • Being Certain -

Being comfortable in your skin, and being sure of who you are is the foundation of your being. Your sense of self will be put to the test and some days it will be harder to keep faith but remember confidence is the best attire and the perfect concealer for your skin. Nothing shines through like a person who is self-assured and makes room for the great and the work-in-progress qualities.
  • Inner Voice -

Sometimes, being confident takes effort and that’s why it matters what you tell yourself. Self-talk can have a deep impact on our minds and wires us accordingly. The words, the affirmations, and the criticism you tell yourself can change how you react to situations, and the way you see challenges and it plays a role in molding your identity. This is especially true when you are talking to yourself about your appearance, your skin, your weight, and sometimes your complexion.
  • Self-Care -

Taking care of yourself is an essential, unselfish act and don’t let anybody else tell you otherwise. It’s about nourishing your body and mind and ensuring you feel rejuvenated and refreshed. You may create a self-care routine that focuses on the mind, the body, the skin and its well-being, and relaxation.

    Our message for the Youth

"I strongly advocate for embracing our bodies. From the beginning, I've believed in nurturing our beauty through holistic health care. The concept of The D wave was born from these beliefs. Throughout our physical journey, our skin may encounter various issues. However, we shouldn't let them weigh us down, but rather, embrace the true joys of life. Whether it's a pimple, a wrinkle, or a brown spot, they shouldn't hinder us from fully living our lives. The D wave stands firm in promoting body positivity."

    - Deepthi, The D Wave, Founder

  • Acceptance -

It’s not only about being welcoming to your strengths but also making room for your areas of improvement and changes. However, one needn’t accept their faults to the point of refusing to change. Working on improving your limitations can bring you closer to who you wish to be.
  • All-encompassing Health -

It’s admirable when your goal is to pull off a challenging dead-lift but if your mind is not at ease and is restless, does it feel worth it? Your mental health is equally important if not more. Learning ways to regulate stress, to be mindful and to slow down is crucial in today’s chaotic world. Simon Biles prioritized her mental health during the Olympics in Tokyo; came out as a winner at the recent Olympics in Paris only because she was sure she was ready!
  • Empathy -

You are already an empathetic generation, celebrate that and wear it like a badge of honor. We need more people who understand what it’s like to be in another person’s shoes. Sensitivity helps you understand people better and manage them as well.

Ultimately, your sense of self, compassion towards others, importance to your overall health and acceptance of yourself - are qualities that will take you far. And remember, You do you! Because everybody else is taken.

Happy International Youth Day - You are the future of a better tomorrow.
